Tree Planting Rites are Held at Bridge newspaper

Tree planting at the George Washington Bridge

A newspaper clipping detailing the planting of seventy-two red oaks at the George Washington Bridge Plaza as part of the memorial ceremonies of the George Washington Bridge Bicentennial Tree Planting Committee. Fred T. Eckes, chairman of the committee, gave an address at the ceremony. The tree was planted by Sophie Gessner, vice-president of the Bergenfield Garden Club.
