Bergenfield Public Library is now an approved testing location for the Northstar Digital Literacy Program, offering free testing and assessments of computer and internet skills.

What is Digital Literacy?
“Digital literacy is the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills.” – ALA
In basic terms, Digital Literacy is knowledge of computer and technology skills needed to operative devices such as phones, laptops and computers as well as software and social media.
Northstar Digital Literacy Program
Patrons can use the online link below to test on any number of skills such as Computer Basics, Internet, Email, and Microsoft Excel. Assessments can be done at home or in the library.
Test takers can receive certificates and/or digital badges when they pass Northstar assessments in a proctored environment at a Northstar testing location.
